The Manager of YWCA Arise and December 6th Fund is responsible for the overall operation of YWCA Arise, a 27-bed emergency and crisis shelter for assaulted women and their children and YWCA December 6th Fund, a program that provides interest-free loans to women leaving violent homes. This includes the development, planning, marketing, and implementation of the programs in accordance with the Mission of YWCA Toronto and the needs of the participants. This middle management position is responsible for contributing to the overall management of the Association. YWCA Arise provides safe and secure emergency shelter for women, gender diverse people and their children who are fleeing violence. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day and supports 8 families and one single woman. In addition to shelter, families are offered case management support and enriching group and community activities to help them deal with the trauma they have experienced and begin to establish lives that are free of violence. The YWCA December 6th Fund provides interest free loans to women and gender diverse people leaving violent homes. The fund supports women and gender diverse people in the Greater Toronto Area and the Region of Peel and strives to remove some of the financial barriers that prevents women and gender diverse people from leaving their abusers. Women, Trans, Two-Spirit and gender diverse people use the loans to establish themselves and their children in greater safety.
