The Landscaper reports to the Horticulture Supervisor and directs and works with a crew to carry out landscape practices, landscape installations, and special projects. This role involves operating equipment, assisting with floral show constructions, and maintaining horticultural locations in all aspects, including annuals, perennials, shrubs, and irrigation. The City of Hamilton is seeking a Landscaper to join their diverse team. This role contributes to maintaining horticultural assets in parks, traffic islands, and high-profile City properties. The position requires preparing, installing, and maintaining soft landscaping, operating a water truck, and constructing creative props for annual flower shows. Responsibilities also include excavating for landscape renovation, reading landscape plans, performing repairs on hard surfaces, and maintaining water features and irrigation systems. The role involves applying pesticides and fertilizers, general horticultural maintenance, and snow removal. Additionally, the Landscaper will cut fallen tree limbs, operate a brush chipper, design and install exhibits for special events, and perform preventive maintenance and inventory on a variety of equipment. Loading and unloading equipment and completing required paperwork are also part of the duties.
