About The Position

The Manager, Warehouse ensures a warehouse culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through engagement with warehouse associates, strong customer service, and safe, profitable operations. The role uses warehouse operations experience to manage personnel and drive efficient operations, ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely receipt and storage of inbound products or selection and loading of outbound products. The schedule is 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The manager oversees and develops warehouse associates, directs shift workflow and productivity, supports hiring and performance management, monitors operational results, and maintains facility safety, sanitation, food safety, and equipment. The role also works with operations management to address inventory shrink and control costs. The work takes place in warehouse areas, including cooler and freezer areas that may reach -5 degrees. Travel of 10% is required, typically for mandatory meetings or training.

Requirements

At least three years of experience in warehouse distribution.
At least one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
Strong leadership, communication, and people-development skills.
Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
High school diploma or GED.
Able to meet the listed physical activity requirements, including frequent walking and sitting, continuous carrying of items weighing 1–10 pounds, and occasional lifting of items up to 100 pounds.
Able to work in warehouse environments, including cooler and freezer areas with temperatures as low as -5 degrees.
Able to travel 10%, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training.

HACCP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Champion safety procedures, processes, and training to maintain a safety-first warehouse culture.
Coach, train, and develop associates; assist with problem resolution and discuss performance with Senior Warehouse Managers to plan for addressing performance gaps.
Maintain open communication and direct the workforce to support efficient workflow.
Direct and supervise warehouse associates, supporting engagement, retention, and a culture reflecting company values.
Participate in interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel with Senior Warehouse Managers; review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
Lead associates in producing accurate orders and staging and loading trucks; oversee warehouse preparation for the next shift's shipping or receiving.
Monitor mis-picks and productivity reports, ensure shift performance meets rates and preferred methods, and coach or counsel to correct behaviors.
On day shift, designate dock locations for inbound carriers; ensure product is stocked according to food safety and FIFO procedures; monitor replenishment, oversee will call, and help prevent shorts.
Maintain the physical condition and safety of the warehouse and equipment, including preparing repair work orders and equipment requisitions.
Work with operations management to identify inventory shrink sources and develop action plans; analyze operations and recommend expense and cost-control improvements.
Inspect the facility for safety hazards and resolve or report them to the safety manager.
Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule and FSQA requirements are followed.
Schedule working shifts using appropriate planning tools, such as Microsoft Excel.
Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
