About The Position

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Total Rewards (hybrid) at our Head Office in Surrey, BC. This role is for a strategic and forward-thinking individual who thrives on turning data into strategy and influencing business decisions. The Manager, Total Rewards will play a key role in shaping a modern, integrated, and performance-driven rewards strategy with a strong compensation focus. The role involves partnering with senior leaders, leveraging data to drive decisions, and leading initiatives such as pay equity, incentive design, and program enhancements, positioning Total Rewards as a strategic driver of Westland’s continued success.

Requirements

  • Progressive experience in compensation or total rewards, including exposure to benefits
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a strong track record of coaching and developing team members
  • Deep expertise in compensation design, benchmarking, and market analysis
  • Strong understanding of pay equity, compliance, and regulatory considerations
  • Advanced analytical capability, including Excel-based modeling and data interpretation
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing complex decisions
  • Proven ability to lead projects and drive process improvements
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evolve compensation structures, programs, and policies aligned to business strategy and market competitiveness
  • Provide expert consultation to leaders, HR Business Partners, and recruiters on pay decisions, job architecture, and compensation policy interpretation
  • Lead key compensation initiatives, including structure reviews, pay equity analysis, and incentive design, bringing forward insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Oversee benefits and disability programs, ensuring effective delivery, continuous improvement, and alignment with employee needs and organizational priorities
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Own and optimize compensation and benefits modules within Dayforce, acting as a subject matter expert for configuration, enhancements, reporting, and process efficiency
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, direction, and support while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
