About The Position

The Manager, Technical Services manages a location or customer onsite operation related to the collection, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. The role supervises and trains Technical Services employees to ensure scheduled jobs are completed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards. It also manages field projects, supports customers and Sales with technical and regulatory information, prepares project proposals and billing, and oversees employee hiring, performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 3 years of experience in hazardous waste management or environmental services required.

• A degree in chemistry, engineering, environmental science, or another technical field.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and processes and maintaining safe practices.
• Ensure compliance with divisional, federal, and corporate safety policies; conduct regular safety meetings; and provide job-site health and safety plans, including personal protective equipment specifications.
• Manage field projects, keep customers informed of progress, and address technical questions.
• Provide regulatory information to customers and project managers, maintain records required by regulatory agencies, and keep customers informed of pertinent regulations.
• Compile relevant technical aspects of projects into reports and use technical knowledge to create proposals.
• Respond by phone or in writing to customer inquiries about waste approval, disposal, and pricing, and respond to new customer inquiries about the company and Technical Services.
• Provide technical assistance to Sales and attend sales calls as needed.
• Prepare and approve billing and track internal and external costs.
• Supervise Technical Services employees and participate in hiring, performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
