DTE is seeking a Manager - Strategy & Special Projects to blend strategic planning and project management in support of business unit strategic priorities. The role plans, manages, and executes multiple projects that may span disciplines; develops high-level business unit strategic plans; and supports their successful implementation and ongoing execution. The position may investigate and evaluate initiatives aligned with the business unit’s long-range goals. The manager leads professional-level staff and significant, complex technical project or business support and production teams, and is accountable for their performance and results. Span of control is typically fewer than 10 FTEs across direct and second-level reports, in addition to multidisciplinary project team leadership. This is a strategic planning and project management generalist role that may cover one or more disciplines, including projects involving engineering-based disciplines, but is distinct from power-plant-specific engineering project leadership roles. This is a hybrid role with an established schedule of in-person work at an assigned work location. Remote work is expected to be performed from the employee’s primary residence, subject to company remote-work guidelines. The role includes a primary assignment supporting DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events affecting customer service. Travel and reporting to different locations, typically within the Corporation’s service area, may be required; employees are responsible for their own transportation.
