About The Position

The Manager, Specialty Compliance and Ethics, oversees adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards within their area of responsibility. This role involves monitoring laws and policies, conducting research, and developing strategies to address compliance gaps. Collaborating with leadership and stakeholders, the manager ensures effective communication and implementation of compliance initiatives. They lead impact assessments, manage legislative tracking, and support long-term regulatory forecasting. Additionally, this position fosters a culture of integrity and accountability, promotes continuous improvement, and provides guidance to associates to uphold company values and ethical conduct.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in compliance management and regulatory compliance within complex environments.
  • Experience in the energy industry across various sectors.
  • An understanding of deregulated energy markets
  • Previous experience with Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) with an understanding of Renewable Portfolio Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal controls and lead compliance assessments effectively.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to analyze legislation, assess regulatory impacts, and develop strategic responses.
  • Excellent project management capabilities with a focus on driving results and accountability.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and fostering a culture of integrity and transparency.
  • A history of thriving in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 2 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 2 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance requirements by addressing questions, monitoring regulations, and updating policies with leadership input.
  • Collaborate with senior managers to communicate compliance information and identify potential gaps, recommending strategies for resolution.
  • Maintain Walmart's Energy Benchmarking Portfolio by staying up to date on all reporting requirements and program changes that could impact the businesses bottom line.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SMA) on Building Performance Standards (BPS) across Walmart's real estate portfolio.
  • Lead data management programs to track legislation and support long-term regulatory forecasting.
  • Resolve compliance concerns through data collection, reporting and timely updates.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as legal, real estate, energy and sustainability.
