About The Position

The position has management responsibility for a determined number of direct reports with the intent of increasing team member competencies and strengths, effectively utilizing their bandwidth and workload, training team members to increase their capabilities, and driving continued success and improvement. The Manager is responsible for Consulting Team Member development and the continued modernization of Bastian Solution’s Consulting Practice. The Manager assists the Director in executing strategic business goals, ensures Consulting Deliverables are fully vetted and risks mitigated, and confirms the Consulting team is fully engaged with downstream Solutions Delivery Implementation projects. He or she sponsors both Paid Consulting Studies and System support opportunities with the goal of overseeing Solution Designs that ensure customer satisfaction, reduces risk in key design criteria, and that the best practices/SOPs are followed for timely consulting deliverable completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering (or related degree) with 7+ years of relevant practical business experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically develop the Consulting practice
  • Recruit, train, coach, and motivate the Consultants under his or her leadership
  • Ensure Consulting supports the overall company goals (Safety, Employee, Customer, Financial)
  • Sponsor Paid Consulting projects and System Sales Opportunities – ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-quality delivery, resulting in highly impressed clients, repeat business, and customer reference sites
  • Provide supplemental Project Support to projects that are behind schedule, budget, and/or quality expectations
  • Recruiting of new talent (interviewing, convincing the strongest candidates to join Toyota, improving our Recruiting standards)
  • Career development of the assigned reports as well as the overall Consulting team – ensuring high team satisfaction under his or her leadership and a high retention rate
  • Developing and supervising internal training. Drive onboarding of newly hired consultants and supervise continued training for seasoned consultants.
  • Ensure strong and balanced project staffing that keeps the team utilization high and projects within schedule
  • Performing all administrative functions as needed
