About The Position

The Shipping Manager is responsible for ensuring on-time product delivery using secure, standard shipping methods, accurately matching shipments to sales orders, and maintaining economically competitive shipping practices. The role also oversees inventory management and control in a warehouse environment, including organized product placement and proper labeling with part number, product description, and quantity. The Shipping Manager coordinates trucking companies to support timely pickups and manages customer delivery issues related to those carriers. The position is also responsible for maintaining employee safety within the department and reports directly to the Site Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and stand for long periods.

• Full range of body motion, including lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing, and ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment.
• Ability to use hands and legs to physically handle awkward and slick pieces of PVC pipe.

Nice To Haves

• Related inventory, shipping, and receiving experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Five or more years of supervisory experience with detailed knowledge of shipping and receiving practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory of consumable items and establish replenishment schedules.
• Manage critical shipping and packaging supplies.
• Coordinate production schedules with product storage in the warehouse.
• Manage the shipping process, addressing efficiency and capacity issues.
• Seek improvements in shipping processes and efficiencies, including minimizing shipping errors.
• Maintain budgeted head count and monitor employee records.
• Coordinate trucking companies to meet delivery schedules and demands.
• Monitor shipping output for quality and accuracy.
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies with the Manufacturing Analyst.
• Manage the movement of inbound material.
• Manage the return merchandise authorization (RMA) process from receipt of a return.
• Monitor plant safety by completing safety inspections and plant walk-throughs.
• Maintain shipping equipment, including operating and inspecting forklifts.
• Monitor inventory movement between locations.
• Review storage and capacity planning issues.
• Support the Manufacturing Analyst with cycle counts.
• Support the Logistics Manager with inventory levels.
• Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES.
