About The Position

The role provides regional leadership and operational oversight for safety and security functions across assigned Rochester Regional Health sites. This role directs programs related to risk assessment, workplace violence prevention, incident investigation, staff training, regulatory compliance, and security technology. The role builds high-performing teams, manages departmental budgets, collaborates with internal stakeholders and law enforcement, and ensures that services align with organizational priorities. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex challenges are key to success in this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military, or Security
  • NYS Security Guard License
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Direct security staff at assigned sites/regions, overseeing safety and security initiatives including risk assessments, workplace violence planning, investigations, training, executive protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage daily operations such as staffing, scheduling, patrols, incident response, and report review to ensure safety of patients, staff, visitors, and property.
  • Implement emerging security technologies, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and manage budgets for safety, security, parking, and fleet operations.
  • Supervise full-time, part-time, and per diem staff; provide coaching and growth opportunities; and oversee hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Maintain a visible command presence, foster positive interactions with employees and visitors, and represent the organization in collaboration with law enforcement and community partners.
