In this role, you will lead the oversight and direction of Accounts Receivable operations, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely revenue cycle performance across multiple business lines. You’ll partner with business office teams to deliver results that support both financial health and exceptional customer experience.

  • Proficient within associated system applications for assigned portfolios, including but not limited to Epic and Mediquant.
  • Maintains working knowledge of CPT, ICD, HCPCS code sets.
  • Maintains working knowledge of HIPAA transaction code sets and payer rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Attends and participates in denial management to improve revenue cycle performance.
  • Keeps informed on state and federal regulations affecting billing and collections and make adjustments required to meet these changes for facility and professional fee billing.
  • Makes and tests necessary changes to the payor and collections part of the patient accounting system.
  • Manage and direct the daily operation of assigned areas and staff.
  • Manages WIP with HIM, IPCC, and HRC, including providing feedback, system changes, new software solutions, and updates on needed process improvements.
  • Monitors and ensures proper coding is reported on the patient billing.
  • Monitors the patient accounting system output and make necessary adjustments.
  • Provides training, including changes to the systems and third party billing.
  • Supervises electronic claims processing.
  • Supervises the collections of all governmental payor balances, including secondary and private pay balances.
  • Identifies, discusses, plans and implements with assistance from Information Technology and Systems.
  • Will enhance the enterprises revenue cycle systems - applications, systems or modifications.
  • Will work in collaboration with the Director of Revenue Cycle Denials, Regional AR & SBU’s.
  • Prepares annual budget for department.
  • Monitors, verifies and reconciles department expenditures on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborates closely with the clinical leadership to ensure effective financial outcomes.
  • Handles quality assurance/compliance matters as required and expected per policy and Code of Conduct.
  • Contributes, interprets and analyzes financial data.
  • Identify and monitor performance and establish financial benchmarks for the department.
  • Facilitates and collaborates on initiatives within the department, in clinical operational areas and enterprise wide.
  • Endorses and performs all required tasks associated with the Carle Experience.
  • Provides rounding with staff.
  • Ensures completion of all reports needed to have meaningful and productive monthly meetings with manager.
  • Works in conjunction with Finance/Accounting.
  • Ensure accurate tracking, capturing and reporting of revenue for each business line.
  • Proficient within associated system applications for assigned portfolios, including but not limited to Epic and Mediquant.
  • Maintains working knowledge of CPT, ICD, HCPCS code sets.
  • Maintains working knowledge of HIPAA transaction code sets and payer rules and regulations.
  • Creates, updates, maintains, adheres, enforces all Carle administrative and departmental policy and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
