About The Position

Hometown Health Center (HHC) is seeking a skilled and motivated Revenue Cycle Manager (RCM) to oversee all aspects of our revenue cycle operations. This role is critical to ensuring financial sustainability by maximizing revenue, optimizing workflows, and maintaining compliance with HRSA and FQHC guidelines. The RCM works collaboratively across departments to improve performance, enhance the patient financial experience, and support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of medical billing and revenue cycle experience
  • 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Strong understanding of CPT/ICD coding and payer regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an FQHC or community health setting strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary education in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred
  • Certification (CPC, CPB, etc.) preferred or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CFO to establish annual revenue cycle goals, benchmarks, and performance standards
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maximize reimbursement and reduce delays
  • Monitor denial trends and implement process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and FQHC billing requirements, including sliding fee scale and UDS reporting
  • Maintain knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding standards and oversee coding compliance
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including working with contracted coding auditors
  • Supervise the Billing Coordinator and support front-end staff in registration, coding, and insurance verification
  • Provide staff education on coding updates, billing practices, and workflow improvements
  • Facilitate provider education on documentation and coding best practices
  • Monitor accounts receivable (A/R) aging and collection performance
  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Prepare and present monthly revenue reports and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with finance team on month-end closing activities
  • Oversee electronic billing systems and clearinghouse performance
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fee schedules in collaboration with leadership
  • Participate in quality assurance, compliance initiatives, and safety programs
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
