The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy (“Academy”) is the signature program of Washington Nationals Philanthropies (“WNP”). The Academy’s purpose is to use baseball and softball as vehicles to foster positive character development, academic achievement, and improved health among youth living in underserved communities. To achieve its purpose, the Academy implements holistic programs throughout the year at its nine-acre educational and athletic facility in the Fort Dupont Park neighborhood of Ward 7. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Academy Programs, the Programs Manager will oversee the administration of BASE, the Academy’s holistic, year-round out-of-school-time program, supervising 1 full time and 2 part time staff. BASE is an after-school program during the school year and a six-week full-day program between mid-June and early August. The Programs Manager supports the growth of up to 130 scholar athletes in grades three through eight each year by executing on the following key responsibilities. The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.
