About The Position

Responsible to Corporate leadership for Quality (ISO9001-2008), Safety (OSHA compliant) and Training programs. Has the responsibility and authority of: Ensuring processes needed for the quality management system, safety and training are established, implemented and maintained; reporting to Corporate management on the performance of quality, safety and training and any need for improvement; and ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization. Appointed Management Representative who serves as the liaison to external parties on matters relating to the quality system.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated/documented experience in ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems and Internal Auditing.
  • Experience in establishing and managing/supervising a safety program in industry.
  • Experienced in workforce training and development.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

  • May perform world-wide travel to contract sites.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the COO.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, manages and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • Develops, implements, communicates, and maintains a quality plan to bring Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Works with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Ensures compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
  • Writes technical and management systems reports.
  • Brings together staff of different disciplines and drives them to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures.
  • Persuades reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods.
  • Manages and maintains internal audits and contract quality inspections.
  • Formulates and manages the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the Quality Control (QC).
  • Sets QC compliance objectives and ensures targets are achieved.
  • Defines quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Sets up and maintains controls and documentation procedures.
  • Monitors performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
  • Organizes and manages quality control function in close co-operation with customers and with the Company’s leadership.
  • Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers training.
  • Establishes, manages, and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure the existence and awareness of a suitable and relevant health and safety policy.
  • Ensures a safe workplace without risk to health.
  • Ensures safe contract sites and equipment, and safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances.
  • Ensures adequate provision of first-aid, and welfare facilities and support.
  • Ensures provision of suitable and current information and supervision concerning health and safety policies and practices.
  • Ensures proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
  • Ensures provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.
  • Liaises as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and assists and cooperates concerning audits and remedial actions.
  • Ensures the workplace satisfies health, safety and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities.
  • Ensures prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks.
  • Conducts surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems.
  • Establishes, manages, and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to identify “core competencies” of workforce.
  • Identifies training and development needs within the company.
  • Designs and develops training and development programs based on the company’s and the employee’s needs.
  • Ensures statutory training requirements are met.
  • Helps contract managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
  • Trains instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
  • Evaluates training and development programs.
  • Appraises competency of employees periodically.
  • Identifies quality of workforce as requirements.
  • Develops testing and evaluation procedures.
