About The Position

The Manager, Program Management will support the execution and operations of the Intern Program by coordinating program activities, managing communications, tracking program performance, overseeing budget activities, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a best-in-class intern experience. This role requires strong program management skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring operational excellence and a positive associate experience. The Intern Programs team, within the Early Careers group, collaborates across Walmart and Sam’s Club to attract emerging talent and deliver impactful internship experiences. The team designs and manages engaging events and programs that connect candidates to opportunities, focusing on growth and alignment with organizational goals. By leveraging insights and feedback, they continuously enhance program effectiveness and accessibility. Their efforts support building strong talent pipelines and fostering meaningful connections, emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement to meet business objectives and deliver lasting value across initiatives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing programs or projects from planning through execution.
  • Experience tracking and managing budgets, reconciling expenses, monitoring forecasts, and maintaining financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience developing communications for different audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience tracking metrics, maintaining reports, creating dashboards, and presenting data in a meaningful way.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and finance partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 2 years’ experience in project management, compliance, operations management or related area OR 4 years’ experience in project management, compliance, operations management, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of the intern program, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate relocation activities, manage the program inbox, support events, maintain documentation, and collaborate across teams to improve program operations.
  • Create and deliver communications for interns, managers, and stakeholders, including newsletters and program updates.
  • Track program performance through reporting, dashboards, and data analysis to support informed decisions.
  • Monitor program budgets, reconcile expenses, and partner with finance to support forecasting and compliance.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to support intern onboarding and offboarding, coordinate relocation and program events, maintain documentation, oversee the program inbox, and collaborate across teams to improve program operations.
