About The Position
The Manager of Professional Development provides operational leadership for the Professional Development department and is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of organizational education. This position oversees the daily operations of the department, supervises education personnel, manages departmental resources, and ensures education programs are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with organizational priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
- Registered Nurse licensure
- Five (5) years of progressive nursing experience
- Three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Nursing, Education, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Experience managing education programs, competency management, or professional development
Responsibilities
- Direct the daily operations of the Professional Development department
- Supervises, coach and develops Education Specialists
- Develops staffing plans, assigns workload, and manages departmental scheduling
- Monitors workload distribution and resource utilization across the department
- Supports recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention of education staff
- Leads department meetings and promote effective communication among team members
- Addresses' performance concerns in accordance with organizational policies
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence
- Oversee the execution of organization-wide orientation, onboarding, annual competencies, clinical education initiatives
- Coordinates educational resources to support organizational initiatives and regulatory requirements
- Ensures and supports compliance with all regulatory agencies related to staff education and competency
- Utilizes education outcomes, competency data, quality metrics, and employee feedback to improve educational effectiveness
- Leads process improvement initiatives within the department
