About The Position

The expectation of this position is to lead and direct a team to achieve pedigree farm objectives. Essential functions include achieving selection targets, maintaining genetic security and purity, promoting a culture of biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety, developing qualified and effective team members, communicating and collaborating on pedigree-related objectives, and producing selection reports.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in the field of expertise
• Proficiency in data collection and management using Microsoft Office applications is required
• Must use safe lifting techniques
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit
• Regularly required to use hands to handle, touch, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
• Regularly required to balance and stoop
• Regularly required to talk and hear
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Willing to comply with all Cobb Farm and Hatchery Biosecurity Standards
• Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species, including chickens, ducks, and other birds
• Follow all required safety procedures and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting facilities
• The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of farm machinery and operation, water pumps, and wells preferred
