Responsible for the day-to-day management of on-time, on budget and quality functional project and core work of the product stewardship team to include; resource effort, schedule estimate and cost, for new and active projects for product stewardship team. Prepare and submit annual reports for PFAS and EPR for each regulated jurisdiction Develop and implement NPI process for product compliance across all businesses for EPR, PFAS and CA Prop 65. Anticipate, communicate, and manage regulatory changes with respect to existing regulations that may impact existing product lines and benefit new product introduction. Identify and manage risks early in the product life cycle. Understand potential product use and misuse and work across the function to complete appropriate risk assessments. Responsible for 18-month project forecasting for product stewardship team; accountable for direct reports project time accounting and execute 1-3 year regulatory roadmap projects Responsible for the functional design approach and technical feasibility for multiple projects, with input from key technical personnel from a single team. Lead cross-functional compliance efforts such as state-level EPR compliance, product stewardship, PFAS compliance, CA Prop. 65 labeling. Coordinate cross-functionally with legal, marketing, sourcing, engineering, IT, health and safety, and other departments to make sure compliance projects are implemented correctly and that all legal/regulatory requirements are met Develop compliance framework, SOPs, policies and procedures to ensure on-going product compliance. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the functional area Monitor and educate cross-functional teams on new federal, state, and designated local regulations Monitor and create training plans for direct reports that improves the core competencies of the functional area or business area Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of regulatory experience associated with product compliance.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, laws, and government agency functions.
  • Ability to operationalize compliance in a business setting.
  • Expertise in driving and managing change and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, including effective verbal, writing, and presentation proficiencies.
  • Ability to train a technical staff in functional area on functional subjects, process and tools.
  • Good understanding of product stewardship compliance issues such as PFAS, EPR and CA Prop. 65, including understanding regulations, standards development, and product liability.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time domestically and internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant post-secondary degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Environmental Law, Design for Environment, or similar relevant field.
  • Certified Professional Product Steward (CPPS).
  • Understanding of manufacturing practices with experience in product design, certification and compliance, procurement, sustainability or other product or supply chain management roles is desirable.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Supply Chain Data Integration & Transparency – Experience building systems for supplier data collection and traceability to ensure compliance and sustainability across the product lifecycle.
  • Strong technical skills including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and enterprise resource planning systems similar to SAP.

Responsibilities
