About The Position

The Manager, Product Management analyzes business systems, processes, and related data to engineer new or improved business capabilities. This role acts as a member of a product team, translating business terms into technical requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria. The manager functions as a proxy product owner and subject matter expert for various business domains, with core competencies in requirements engineering, elicitation, process modeling, and workshop facilitation. This position is accountable for the performance and results of a team or multiple teams, coordinating work across the organization, and making decisions regarding workforce development and rewards. The focus is on integrating processes and people, providing technical guidance, and adapting departmental plans to address operational challenges. The role involves strategic development, stakeholder engagement, process improvement, technical communication, building business cases, and project management.

Requirements

  • Product Strategy & Business Acumen: Translating enterprise goals into a clear product vision and roadmap, Strong understanding of business outcomes: cost‑to‑serve, deflection, conversion, CX metrics, ability to prioritize ruthlessly using value vs. effort and ROI thinking and comfort communicating tradeoffs to leadership
  • Technical Fluency (Especially AI / Platforms): Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts (LLMs, orchestration, guardrails, hallucinations), Platform dependencies, APIs, data flows, and integration risks, Ability to partner effectively with engineering without being hands‑on and Asking the right technical questions to de‑risk delivery
  • Execution & Delivery Excellence: Strong backlog management and sprint readiness, Clear definition of MVP vs. future state, Managing cross‑team dependencies and unblockers proactively and Bias toward action and delivery, not analysis paralysis
  • Stakeholder & Executive Communication: Confident communicating with Engineering, Operations, Design and Senior leadership, Tailoring the message for the audience (technical vs. executive), Strong written communication (one‑pagers, exec summaries)
  • Customer & User-Centric Thinking: Deep empathy for end users (customers, agents, internal teams), Uses qualitative + quantitative insights to guide decisions, Balances customer needs with operational realities
  • Ownership & Accountability Mindset: Acts like an owner, not a coordinator, Comfortable making hard calls and standing behind them and Takes responsibility for outcomes, not just outputs
  • Influence Without Authority: Driving alignment across teams without formal control, Navigating conflict constructively and Building trust with engineering and partners
  • Bachelor’s degree in product design, technology or related field
  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself

  • Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
  • Is accountable for the performance and results of a team or multiple teams.
  • Coordinates work across the organization to ensure effectiveness.
  • Makes decisions about the workforce – e.g., who to hire, how to develop them, and how to reward them.
  • Focus is on connecting/integrating processes and people.
  • Directly manages subordinate supervisors or a team of employees who apply conceptual and theoretical expertise.
  • Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
  • Uses financial and market analyses to recommend a strategic position/business strategy; presents rationale to leadership.
  • Advises management on strategic issues and proposes recommendations to management, senior leaders, the Board of Director, etc.
  • Displays a deep understanding of the company’s environment and goals and provides recommendations that include ROI analyses to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  • Identifies and manages key business partner relationships, listens to and understands their needs and expectations, maintains open two-way communication and delivers value to business partner.

  • Creatively develops tools, visual aids and other original content to support the understanding/education of complex and technical information (e.g., legal, operational risk, and regulatory data).
  • Guides others on the best practices and approaches for creating clear, concise and organized communication materials to convey technical concepts in a user-friendly way.
  • Challenges others to bring fresh and creative perspective to differentiating technical communications and ensuring comprehension and ease-of-use for various audiences.
  • Identifies strategic or high-impact business issues/opportunities and articulates the rationale for initiating a project or change.
  • Collaborates with and coaches colleagues in other departments to develop and assess the viability of potential strategies to address business issues/opportunities.
  • Develops recommendations and presents the business case for change, including viability of solution, implementation considerations, and an implementation roadmap.
  • Prioritizes multiple project plans, making final decisions about priorities, timing and resources.
  • Keeps abreast of the progress of multiple projects within a program or across the department; coaches project managers to adjust priorities or timelines as needed.
  • Monitors resource usage across projects or programs, identifying areas or synergy or redundancy and looking for ways to optimize efficiency.
