About The Position

The Manager, Product Management has full product ownership for the business unit and a specific portfolio of products. The role is responsible for directing and managing the efforts of a Business Unit and subsequent product portfolio in the United States. The Business Unit Manager supports the company's efforts to improve business success, including managing the product lifecycle and enhancing products and services. The Product Management Manager breaks the overarching product team expectations down to Product Managers and Product Analysts and acts as CEO for the product portfolio. This position hires and coaches the product management team, ensures that product members have the necessary resources to launch new products and improve the features of existing ones.

  • Exploring the boundaries of what’s possible to improve water flow technology and find innovative ways to learnings to benefit customers.
  • Gathering information on competitive activity in the market place.
  • Incorporating market intelligence into operational and strategic planning process.
  • Being the primary interface for customers for business unit.
  • Communicating the voice of the market and customer to their team and stakeholders.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, industry influencers and strategic partners.
  • Setting and owning the product vision and strategy.
  • Developing and launching new products or advancements on existing products.
  • Developing product communication strategies.
  • Implementing integrated communication plans to improve customer’s awareness of our products.
  • Executing product strategies and guiding product management practices.
  • Building project management practices and methodologies.
  • Working closely with sales to effectively develop partnerships in order to understand market needs as well as meets customer needs.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that product development aligns with business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the product management team ensuring the achievement of operational goals and financial targets.
  • Directs, manages, selects, trains, motivates, reviews, coaches, develops, and retains a high- performance team.
  • Coaches the product management team, conducts timely and accurate employee performance evaluations; addresses performance issues as needed.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and intra-departmental communications; maintains managerial relationships by encouraging and providing a timely, two-way flow of information between subordinates, management, directors, sr. management, and user groups.
  • Ensures compliance in Health, Environment & Safety/Quality in all areas of operations; ensures company policies and guidelines, as set forth in the Corporate Human Resources Policy manual are followed.
  • Develops and administers product management budget for product portfolio, including reviewing previous year’s budget/expenses and forecasting short and long-range budgeting needs.
  • Authorizes expense reports; approves and manages expenditures; ensures expenditures are in alignment with approved budget.
  • Explore the boundaries of what’s possible to improve water flow technology and find innovative ways to learnings to benefit customers.
