About The Position

In this role, you will manage materials operations at the largest transformer manufacturing facility within a leading global transformer business. Based in Varennes, your work will directly support Canada’s critical electric infrastructure during a period of significant growth. You will oversee end‑to‑end materials activities, including planning, procurement, production scheduling, inventory, warehousing, and logistics, ensuring reliable material flow to support production and customer delivery. You will run the factory’s Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, translating sales forecasts into balanced, executable production plans while accounting for functional constraints and long‑range requirements. By strengthening execution discipline and driving continuous improvement, you will improve material availability, inventory accuracy, operational performance, and delivery reliability. This role offers meaningful exposure to complex manufacturing operations and cross‑functional collaboration within a global value chain.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • At least 10 years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably within a PP module
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally within a global value chain
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work independently, apply root‑cause approaches, and manage priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Sound communication skills, teamwork orientation, and a customer‑ and quality‑focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Run the factory Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and integrate forecasts into balanced production plans
  • Manage materials planning and procurement to ensure timely availability of materials for production
  • Oversee master planning, detailed scheduling, capacity management, and execution monitoring across production lines
  • Direct inventory and warehouse operations to support factory goals and improve inventory accuracy
  • Manage logistics planning and execution for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Improve material delivery methods to enhance production efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause and countermeasure activities
  • Run kaizen activities to eliminate waste and improve processes
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
