About The Position

The Manager, Physical Security plays a critical leadership role in safeguarding Inmar’s associates, visitors, assets, facilities, and operations. This position is responsible for the leadership, oversight, readiness, and continuous improvement of physical security operations while ensuring security practices effectively support the needs of the business. The Manager owns the effectiveness of the physical security function and is expected to demonstrate a high degree of judgment, accountability, urgency, and confidence in decision-making. This leader must be comfortable assessing situations quickly, making sound decisions with the information available, and taking appropriate action without unnecessary delay. Inmar operates in a dynamic environment where priorities, risks, technologies, and operational requirements can change frequently. The Manager must be able to rapidly adapt, overcome obstacles, reprioritize resources, and maintain effective security operations as circumstances evolve. This leader will develop and empower a highly capable security team, establish clear expectations and accountability, and build strong partnerships across the organization. Success in this role requires a leader who takes ownership of outcomes, remains composed under pressure, communicates clearly, and consistently turns mission into action through the principles of Flawless Execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and field experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate physical security, law enforcement, investigations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading security personnel, operations, and programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of physical security technologies, including access control, CCTV/video surveillance, alarms, intrusion detection, and incident management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk, make sound decisions, and lead effectively during high-pressure or rapidly changing situations.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and act while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to changing priorities, overcome obstacles, and manage multiple competing demands.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, security standards, and industry best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP®), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI®), Physical Security Professional (PSP®), or comparable security credential.
  • Experience managing contract security providers and enterprise physical security technologies.
  • Experience developing and improving security programs, policies, training, procedures, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Own the effectiveness, readiness, and execution of physical security operations.
  • Provide clear leadership and direction to company and contract security personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and security coverage based on operational needs and changing risk conditions.

  • Conduct regular team meetings and individual coaching sessions to strengthen performance and team readiness.
  • Design and execute regular scenario-based exercises and investigative training to continuously sharpen the security team's tactical response and operational readiness.
  • Develop and facilitate onboarding, training, and communication programs for security personnel and operational leaders.
  • Empower the security team to exercise sound judgment and take appropriate action within established policies and expectations.
  • Create a culture of ownership in which security personnel identify problems, take initiative, and remain accountable for results.
  • Exercise confident, independent judgment when responding to security risks, incidents, and operational challenges.
  • Assess situations quickly and make timely, well-reasoned decisions using the best information available.

  • Monitor and audit access activity to ensure compliance with established security policies.
  • Ensure access-related incidents and potential breaches are appropriately investigated and resolved.
  • Oversee security surveillance, CCTV, alarm, intrusion detection, and related security technologies.
  • Ensure suspicious activity, reported threats, alarms, and other security events receive timely and appropriate response.
  • Ensure security-related requests and incidents are properly documented, prioritized, resolved, or escalated according to established procedures.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve security incident response plans and procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents, emergencies, threats, theft, loss, and other events affecting Inmar associates, operations, or assets.
  • Exercise appropriate decision authority during security incidents and provide clear direction to security personnel and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, operational leaders, and other internal or external partners as appropriate.
  • Lead and conduct investigations involving potential theft, loss, diversion, unauthorized activity, or other security threats.
  • Review available evidence, conduct interviews, identify anomalies, and follow facts to appropriate conclusions.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews, identify lessons learned, and implement appropriate corrective or preventive actions.
  • Develop and provide security awareness training for associates, contractors, and operational leaders.
  • Promote a culture in which security, safety, and individual accountability are understood as shared responsibilities.
  • Conduct drills and exercises to evaluate preparedness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate relevant security risks, expectations, and procedural changes clearly and effectively throughout the organization.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of security incidents, investigations, assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Develop, document, and implement physical security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Generate meaningful security reporting and metrics for management and compliance purposes.
  • Stay current on applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and physical security best practices.
  • Ensure security practices align with Inmar policies, applicable requirements, and legal obligations.
  • Build collaborative relationships with security vendors, contractors, law enforcement, emergency services, and other external partners.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure security service providers meet Inmar’s operational and performance expectations.
