About The Position

Valsoft, established in Montreal in 2015, is a global portfolio of 140+ companies across 20+ industries, focused on acquiring and developing vertical market software businesses. Lighthouse Software Group, an operating group of Valsoft, manages this portfolio, implementing best practices for rapid growth. The opportunity is for a Manager, People Operations to lead the full spectrum of human resources for the Lighthouse portfolio, reporting directly to the Managing Partner. This is a build role with autonomy to strategize and execute HR functions for a growing portfolio, focusing on M&A integration, talent and performance management, AI and workforce planning, people leadership, and HR infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR experience
  • Comfort being the leading HR professional in the group, collaborating with business leaders
  • Experience at a high-growth, dynamic organization
  • Hands-on with HRIS systems (BambooHR a plus)
  • Working knowledge of US and Canadian employment law

Responsibilities

  • Lead people integration for new Lighthouse acquisitions, from pre-close diligence through to integration
  • Partner with corporate on legal entity setup, employment transitions, and cultural integration
  • Lead recruiting for critical leadership hires across the group
  • Implement a lightweight, effective performance management framework
  • Build a talent review process to identify high-potentials and succession risks
  • Establish an employee engagement survey cadence and act on results
  • Partner with portfolio company leaders on workforce planning as AI adoption changes role mix
  • Be a credible thought partner to portfolio company CEOs on org design, team health, and people strategy
  • Build a team of HRBPs and recruiters as the group scales over time
  • Own the HRIS, ATS and other platforms
  • Design and maintain compensation bands across the group using market benchmarking data, in-house
  • Manage compliance across North American and other markets where Lighthouse operates
