About The Position

As a Business Partner within the U.S. People & Culture (P&C) team, you will support the delivery of PMI’s people agenda in service of our smoke-free future. In this role, you will be closely connected to the U.S. Sales organization, partnering with sales leaders and people managers to support field execution, strengthen commercial capability, and address talent and organizational needs tied to evolving business priorities. You will help implement P&C initiatives, contribute to workforce and talent planning, support employee engagement and development, and coach managers through people-related topics and change. Working closely with the Sr Manager, People & Culture U.S. for Commercial Sales Function, you will bring a hands-on, practical, and collaborative approach to supporting leaders and employees in a dynamic, fast-evolving commercial environment.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years in an HR Business Partner / Generalist role supporting managers and business teams
  • Experience in large matrixed organizations, preferably supporting commercial, sales, field, or customer-facing teams
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy while knowing when to escalate and seek guidance
  • Strong stakeholder management and clear communication skills with people managers and cross-functional partners
  • Experience supporting organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and talent development activities in a changing business environment
  • Employee relations experience required, with ability to handle routine matters and escalate complex cases appropriately

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of U.S. People & Culture initiatives aligned with global and local priorities
  • Partner with sales and functional managers to support organizational effectiveness, capability planning, coverage model needs, and identification of talent gaps
  • Contribute to workforce planning and succession planning activities by preparing insights, supporting follow-up actions, and helping ensure the Sales organization has visibility to talent and capability needs
  • Serve as a day-to-day People & Culture partner to sales leaders, people managers, and employees
  • Coach managers on engagement, culture, team effectiveness, and people leadership fundamentals
  • Support change management activities and team effectiveness efforts that help sales teams adapt to new ways of working, evolving market priorities, and commercial transformation
  • Coordinate and support local engagement initiatives and employee feedback mechanisms that reflect the needs of both headquarters and field-based sales teams
  • Support learning and development using global People & Culture tools
  • Support sales leaders through performance cycles, calibration preparation, feedback processes, and talent discussions that reinforce a high-performance commercial culture
  • Support internal mobility, promotions, and talent pipeline processes in partnership with the Sr Manager and relevant COEs
  • Advise employees and managers on career development and growth opportunities
  • Provide initial employee relations guidance and escalate complex matters in partnership with the Sr Manager, Legal, and Compliance
  • Support adherence to U.S. employment laws and internal policies by helping managers apply consistent people practices
  • Collaborate with global and regional COEs, including Compensation & Benefits, Talent, and DEI, to execute programs and resolve day-to-day people needs
  • Maintain data integrity, prepare people reporting, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
