About The Position

The Manager Patient Services for the NICU is a full-time, day-shift management position at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. Reporting to hospital-site Nursing leadership, the manager is accountable for a major function or service, or multiple smaller functions, and may manage multiple related Nursing units. The role has medium scope or impact, with fewer than 50 direct and indirect reports across multiple units, responsibility for a major Nursing operational support function, or several support responsibilities. Direct reports may include Clinical Managers and other professional, administrative, or Nursing supervisory personnel. For positions with patient-care accountability, the manager plans, implements, and evaluates processes related to performance improvement, staffing effectiveness, fiscal management, staff competence, and customer-service outcomes. The manager works with senior leaders, subordinate staff, and other healthcare team members to advance department, hospital, and DMC objectives, and ensures regulatory requirements and standards are communicated, implemented, and monitored. For positions supporting Nursing operations, the manager identifies departmental policy needs and defines policies in collaboration with higher-level management, oversees the development or revision of procedures and protocols, and obtains approvals as needed. The manager develops, monitors, and revises processes; may contribute to organizational design and monitor workflow quality and quantity; initiates or recommends personnel actions; completes performance appraisals; and develops and assesses goals and measures. The manager may assist with long-range departmental goals and budget development and monitoring. The manager supports DMC's Code of Conduct and commitment to legal and ethical standards, implements audit recommendations as directed, and monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations, JCAHO requirements, and DMC policies and procedures.
