About The Position

This leadership role has comprehensive operational authority and responsibility for designated clinical areas within Vanderbilt University Medical Center's cutting-edge neonatal program. The position oversees a highly specialized 44-bed Cardiac and Complex Surgical Unit and leads neonatal vascular access and PICC services across the children's hospital. The Manager is responsible for driving excellence in quality, safety, patient experience, staff engagement, and financial performance. Key responsibilities include fiscal accountability, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, ensuring patient and family-centered care, managing and developing teams, and integrating with the clinical enterprise.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted RN license.
  • MSN or MHA or above required.
  • 3-5 years progressive leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates to operationalize the mission, strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies for the PCC, Hospitals and Vanderbilt Clinic.
  • Prepares annual operating and capital budgets following established guidelines and using benchmark data.
  • Develops and monitors the implementation of area specific quality plan linked to organizational goals.
  • Oversees the Cardiac and Complex Surgical Unit, a 44-bed specialty unit caring for critically ill and medically complex neonates, including those needing ECMO or with cardiac, neurological, renal, genetic conditions, prematurity, and other complex diagnoses.
  • Leads the Neonatal Vascular Access and PICC team supporting neonatal PICC services across the hospital.
  • Drives excellence across quality, safety, patient experience, staff engagement, and financial performance.
  • Ensures fiscal accountability, maintains quality and regulatory standards, and upholds a high level of patient/family centered care and service.
  • Manages and develops teams, ensuring integration with the clinical enterprise.
