About The Position

The RN Cardiac Surgical Unit provides clinical expertise and care for critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment. The role supports high-quality, efficient patient care and contributes to decisions that improve patient outcomes and advance nursing. Nurses work collaboratively with their direct manager and may participate in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or hold appropriate compact licensure; an active Florida RN license is required within 60 days of hire if holding a compact license.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• American Heart Association ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Current NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
• PC skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene in, and evaluate the care of critically ill patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patient records, including posting test and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
