About The Position

NBCUniversal is seeking a Manager of Night Operations to lead the Theme Park Custodial team and oversee nightly park operations. The role manages a team of more than 200 employees and is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and presentable park environment in compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements. The manager is also accountable for delivering strong results for internal and external guests and implementing departmental programs that support team member and guest satisfaction and operational excellence. The position oversees workforce leadership and planning, nightly cleaning operations, safety, resources, quality control, staff training, and administrative functions. The manager coordinates with daytime operations, maintenance, Human Resources, and Labor Relations to support operational continuity and positive union relationships. The role requires overnight work and weekends as needed, as well as standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience in janitorial or custodial services.
At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
Strong leadership and team-building skills, including the ability to manage a large and diverse workforce.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends as required.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with janitorial management software.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage night-shift janitorial supervisors and custodial staff.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and develop employee growth and improvement plans.
Foster teamwork, efficiency, safety, and customer service, and establish departmental work expectations and leadership standards.
Lead workforce planning, reward and recognition efforts, and Team Member events.
Oversee hiring, training, and development of Night Operations Team Members.
Develop and implement nightly cleaning schedules to maintain park cleanliness and safety.
Monitor compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Coordinate with daytime operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuity of services.
Partner with Human Resources and Labor Relations to uphold collective bargaining agreements and maintain positive union relationships.
Promote and enforce safety protocols; conduct safety training and drills; investigate and report incidents and hazards; and implement corrective actions.
Act as crisis manager during guest and employee medical or emergency situations.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and ensure adequate stock and proper use.
Oversee janitorial equipment maintenance and repairs in coordination with maintenance staff as needed.
Inspect park areas and address cleanliness or service issues and complaints promptly.
Ensure overnight facility cleanliness standards are maintained.
Develop and implement new-hire and ongoing staff training, including instruction on safety protocols, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
Prepare and manage night operations budgets for labor, supplies, and operational equipment.
Maintain records of schedules, inspections, maintenance, safety training, and inventory.
Report operational metrics and provide regular updates to senior management.
