About The Position

The Manager-Outpatient Clinic, in collaboration with the Director, provides administrative, human resource, and financial management for the hospital-based outpatient clinic. Ensures staff relate courteously, compassionately, and tactfully with patients and families, conveying emotional comfort and care through verbal and nonverbal communication. Participates in the strategic planning process and aligns service goals and objectives with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Supports and participates in research approved by the Internal Review Board (IRB) and facilitates patient participation in LLUMC trials. Ensures compliance with requirements of planning, regulatory, and inspecting agencies, as well as hospital and department policies. Mentors and coaches staff in transforming culture, processes, and clinical practice to meet the demands of cutting-edge healthcare delivery and nursing excellence in the outpatient clinic environment. Supports and inspires professional governance groups to attain required nursing excellence standards to achieve Magnet Recognition as outlined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Provides leadership in the conversion of care to evidence-based practice with an emphasis on safety initiatives, quality care, and best practices supported by innovative technology. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, or, Associate's Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field and a Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum three years of nursing experience demonstrating competencies in ambulatory setting, leadership, or education.
  • Substantial knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, finance, performance improvement, quality, patient safety, evidenced-based clinical practice standards, medical staff structure, and legal aspects of care.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, management, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Exhibits professional behavior and appearance at all times.
  • Able to speak, read, and write legibly in English.
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program).
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
