About The Position

The Manager on Duty will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of gym operations to ensure the club is successful. Hours include both weekdays and weekends as this position rotates weekends with CLUB Assistant General Managers. The Manager on Duty - Closer will be involved in all front desk related activities including: answering phones, checking members into the system, new member sign-up, taking prospective members on tours, and facilitating all member requests, issues, and questions. This role also assists in overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, ordering supplies within a specific budget, and tracking statistics and reports.

Requirements

  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Solid supervisory, diplomacy and listening skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
  • Hard working, enthusiastic and energetic!
  • Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Current CPR Certification preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Strong sales background helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the oversight of gym operations.
  • Assisting GM and AGMs in training and developing a high performing staff.
  • Making phone calls to prospective members.
  • Maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests.
  • Ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
  • Providing backup support to Club management when no AGMs or the GM is on site.
  • Assisting in scheduling and supervising staff.
  • Assisting in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
  • Answering phones in a friendly manner and assisting callers with a variety of questions.
  • Checking members into the system.
  • New member sign-up.
  • Taking prospective members on tours.
  • Facilitating all member requests, issues, and questions.
  • Assisting in overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of facility.
  • Assisting in ordering of supplies using specific budget based on club requirements.
  • Assisting in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
  • Providing backup support for absent staff members.
