About The Position

The Manager of Talent Acquisition will design and implement networking and sourcing strategies to create a pipeline of talent and will provide full life cycle recruiting when needed. They will manage, coach, and develop the Talent Acquisition team as well as drive progress to improve the overall function of talent acquisition at Advia. This role is accountable for contributing at a strategic level with other Human Resource managers to develop retention strategies and succession planning to promote long term tenure with Advia. This is accomplished by providing outstanding service to both internal and external members as defined by living and demonstrating the core values of the credit union; Act with Integrity, Drive Progress, Build & Strengthen Relationships and Keep People at the Core.

Requirements

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • A college degree.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
  • In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
  • Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
  • Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
  • Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance, aid, advocacy, motivation, development, and vision to a high performing team of experienced Talent Acquisition Partners, while maintaining recruitment activity for high level positions.
  • Manages direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including monitoring team performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules.
  • Ensure appropriate workload balance for direct reports.
  • Appraise performance and provide recommendations for promotion, disciplinary action, and termination, as appropriate.
  • Provides strategic vision by creating and communicating vivid pictures of future possibilities, opportunities, and direction of the future.
  • This includes reporting on key metrics to support strategic initiatives.
  • Develops, cultivates, and manages relationships with Hiring Managers, Directors, VPs, and Chief Officers to provide service excellence.
  • Ensures a presence is maintained in our local communities through Advia representation at community events including college and university career fairs, professional networking events, volunteer events, etc.
  • Partners with Advia’s leaders to create and implement a talent acquisition strategy, including a recruiting plan for current and future needs.
  • Researches and develops innovative recruiting sources to build a talent pipeline.
  • Continuously identifies and implements new sourcing ideas to attract and engage top candidates.
  • Assists managers in developing position descriptions and maintains the updates to those job descriptions.
  • Explores, manages, and maintains vendor relationships of talent acquisition systems (examples may include: applicant tracking systems, pre-employment assessments, brand pages and sourcing platforms).
  • Intently sources qualified candidates to contribute to candidate pools by headhunting, researching, and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.
  • Ownership for growing and promoting ideas to proactively recruit and engage with passive candidates to increase the talent pipeline.
  • Verifies applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; evaluating responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Evaluates recruiting related processes, implementing and managing change and process improvements or efficiencies.
  • Promotes Advia’s employer brand with recruitment marketing, brand visibility, social media campaigns, employee referral programs, etc.
  • Builds, embeds and integrates diversity, equity and inclusion into the talent lifecycle so that Advia’s employees are a representation of the communities in which we serve.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Additionally, all employees must follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines.
