This position oversees the Department of Campus Safety Training Division and is responsible for the management of compliance and administrative aspects related to the Department of Campus Safety including the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, the Department’s Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) nationally and internationally recognized accreditation program, and other regulatory compliance issues. The position reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Campus Safety. This position is responsible for overseeing the coordination and preparation of the Department’s quarterly and annual reports and production of the annual security and fire safety report under the Jeanne Clery Act. This position oversees the Department’s CALEA ( program and requires extensive experience in writing and documenting policies and procedures that meet accreditation standards. The position provides leadership to the Department of Campus Safety by directly supervising the Sergeant of the Training Division and promoting alignment with CALEA standards and by applying project management skills to large scale projects, providing solutions for issues in implementation and leveraging campus relationships to ensure successful completion.
