About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development, you will play a lead role in the management of the BC Region’s marketing team and the execution and delivery of strategic marketing and business development initiatives to strengthen market presence, build brand awareness and support business growth. The successful candidate is an established marketing and business development professional who can lead a team, is highly motivated, organized and has a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders. This is a hand-on role and will support two BC offices in Vancouver and Surrey. The role will principally be located in our Vancouver office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of managerial experience in a professional services environment
  • Proven experience developing, managing and implementing effective multi-channel marketing programs and business development plans, communications, thought leadership, branding, client service planning and go-to-market strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excel at project management, negotiation, change management and consulting to get buy-in and support for projects, even as you balance competing priorities and stakeholders’ expectations across different areas of business
  • Can identify key industry and client information (trends, issues, client-specific data and strategic business opportunities) and present marketing perspective on what will be required to meet strategic goals
  • Self-starter who can work with little day-to-day supervision
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Client-service orientation and create a strong presence that will instill confidence with partners, associates and firm leadership
  • Relationship builder with solid experience collaborating across seniority levels and with multiple stakeholders and teams on projects
  • Can demonstrate commitment to achieve set goals either working independently or as part of a team
  • Comfortable using data, CRM, business intelligence, and marketing tools to track activity and support decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Director of Marketing and Business Development, lawyers and stakeholders to develop and implement marketing and business development initiatives aligned with regional priorities
  • Manage a team of marketing and business development professionals, assigning work, ensuring quality and consistency of output and client satisfaction
  • Support client relationship programs, including key client planning, cross-selling initiatives and client feedback efforts
  • Conduct and coordinate research on identified business targets and regional practice group plans. Assist with developing tailored regional strategies, approaches and materials for effective business development efforts
  • Assess, manage and activate regional partnerships, sponsorships and events to support business priorities, strengthen brand presence and maximize ROI
  • Lead the preparation of marketing materials for current and prospective clients including pitches and RFP responses
  • Design and execute multi-channel marketing initiatives (digital, earned media, paid media, etc) to elevate the profile of the BC region
  • Track budget and provide reporting on BC marketing and BD activities
  • Oversee preparation of directory and award submissions
  • Monitor emerging regional and industry trends and opportunities and incorporate into actionable plans
  • Leverage AI and other tools and champion their adoption to improve workflow
  • Collaborate closely with Firmwide and other regional marketing teams to ensure integrated efforts initiatives
  • Special project work and other marketing management duties as outlined by the Senior Director of Marketing and Business Development
