About The Position

The Manager, Integration Management Office (IMO) and Alliance Operations is responsible for operational excellence, governance, capability development, and continuous improvement supporting Gilead's integration and alliance management activities. This role serves as the operational backbone for both the Integration Management Office and the Alliance Management function, ensuring consistent governance, disciplined execution, effective portfolio oversight, and enterprise-wide knowledge management across M&A acquisitions, divestitures, strategic partnerships, collaborations, and alliance portfolios. The position enables Gilead to execute transactions and partnerships more effectively by establishing standardized operating models, tools, reporting frameworks, and best practices, while building organizational capabilities that improve decision-making, value realization, risk management, and cross-functional alignment. Unlike transaction-specific integration leaders or alliance managers who focus on individual deals or partnerships, this role builds and operates the enterprise infrastructure, governance, and capabilities that support successful integration and alliance outcomes across the organization. For the right person, this role will be considered a stepping stone to becoming an Alliance Manager in the future.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and Six Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Four Years' Experience

Nice To Haves

PhD preferred
Prior operational excellence, governance, and capability development within Alliance Management
Previous experience within contract management
Background in operations with a focus on business and system processes
Prior experience in biotech/pharma industry
Strong project management, collaboration, and reporting skills

Responsibilities

Lead and continuously enhance the operating model for the Integration Management Office and Alliance Management organization.
Establish and maintain standardized templates and reporting mechanisms.
Support reporting requirements for the Executive Steering Committee (ESC), Governance Committees, and Gilead Leadership Team (GLT).
Drive consistency and adoption of best practices across integration, alliances, and other strategic initiatives.
Serve as steward of Gilead's Integration Playbook, alliance management methodologies, operational standards, and tools.
Continuously improve processes based on lessons learned, industry best practices, and organizational needs.
Standardize approaches for governance, planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and performance reporting.
Develop and maintain reusable toolkits, templates, operating procedures, and training materials.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and scalability.
Own the enterprise integration and alliance knowledge repository.
Own and maintain the Gilead Alliance Management Database (GAM), collaborating with functions across the enterprise on reporting, dashboards, and metrics.
Maintain SharePoint sites, collaboration platforms, and centralized documentation.
Facilitate lessons learned reviews following major integrations, alliance milestones, and key governance events.
Ensure critical knowledge, decisions, best practices, and operating procedures are systematically documented and retained.
Develop and maintain best-practice libraries, playbooks, case studies, and training resources.
Promote enterprise learning and operational excellence across Alliance Management and integration teams.
Develop and maintain dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and executive reporting for integration and alliance portfolios.
Monitor organizational performance across key measures, including alliance health, governance effectiveness, milestone achievement, and implementation of lessons learned.
