About The Position

Affordable Home Furnishings is hiring a motivated leader for its Fast Track Store Manager program, with openings starting in Thibodaux. The role is intended for someone who wants to grow into a Store Manager position and learn all areas of the business while working directly with experienced managers. Relocation may be required for the fastest advancement. Pay is $40,000–$50,000 per year.

The Manager in Training will gain experience in sales, collections, service, inventory, deliveries, team leadership, and daily store operations. The position includes customer contact by phone and field visits, route-based sales and collections, showroom and merchandise work, and assistance with warehouse operations as needed. The role is suited to someone who wants to lead a team, enjoys sales and customer interaction, takes ownership, and is looking for a long-term career path toward managing a store.

Requirements

• Sales experience is required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; a Class D chauffeur's license is required.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, including loading, unloading, and moving furniture and appliances.

Nice To Haves

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Collections or account management experience preferred.
• Rent-to-own experience is a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform all aspects of store operations.
• Handle sales, collections, and service on a route while learning the company's system.
• Lead by example in sales and customer service.
• Help manage customer accounts and collections.
• Train and motivate team members.
• Set up and maintain showroom displays.
• Assemble new merchandise.
• Clean and refurbish previously rented merchandise.
• Monitor inventory and merchandise flow.
• Assist with deliveries, pickups, and warehouse operations when needed.
• Work toward managing a store location.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.
