About The Position

This role leads process improvement initiatives within a Distribution Center, utilizing tools like 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies to eliminate losses according to the Network Process Structure and Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs. The position involves delivering functional area results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and creating standard work to reduce process variation. It also includes assisting with the review and response of process improvement projects owned by area managers, applying new network One Best Way playbooks, and providing input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities. The Manager II will lead savings projects within their area of responsibility by removing losses from the process, promote company policies and values, and support the tactical deployment of the WPS program methodology. They will manage project execution for top losses, assist in building the capability of other area managers and associates, support area loss profile analysis and performance metrics, and develop gap analyses for WPS integration. Additionally, the role supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements. The position involves coordinating and overseeing job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals, building accountability, measuring progress, and identifying improvement opportunities. It also requires providing supervision and development for associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a culture of belonging. Ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity through action plans and guidance is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in Process Improvement
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Analytical skills
  • Process or Value Stream Simulation knowledge
  • Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long term savings
