About The Position

The Manager, HR programs plays a pivotal role in driving human resource-based initiatives by overseeing the strategic design and execution of employee retention, development and engagement programs. This position is responsible for managing the development, maintenance and governance of HR metrics and dashboards across core HR disciplines including headcount turnover, recruiting (hiring, time to fill, etc.), compensation, employee engagement, True North initiatives, etc. This role helps to translate HR and business strategy into meaningful and actionable workforce analytics while aligning with HR/organizational goals. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to build comprehensive, data-driven programs that address both tactical and leadership needs within the organization. The Manager, HR programs is integral to enhancing the employee experience through data analysis, effective project management, and strategic leadership. A key component of this role is utilizing Workday and other HR systems to drive data driven improvement. By leveraging HR analytics and best practices, this role ensures that decisions and initiatives are rooted in data, helping to shape a forward-looking HR strategy that adapts to the evolving needs of the workforce. This role also plays a critical part in supporting the overall direction of the HR department by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across teams. The leader is expected to influence and drive meaningful change through the effective use of technology, ensuring that HR initiatives are aligned with company objectives and are delivering measurable value. This position requires a deep understanding of organizational goals, the ability to adapt strategies based on insights from HR data, and strong leadership in implementing programs that positively impact both employees and the business. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-7+ years of HR experience with a proven track record of leading teams and executing large-scale HR initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor, develop, and collaborate with cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and HRIS platforms (such as Workday) for data analysis, reporting, and program management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate into every day language.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple HR programs, such as retention, engagement, talent development, and performance management, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and critical thinking skills, with a focus on using data to inform strategic decision-making and drive HR improvements.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies and process improvement strategies for enhancing HR operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, Lean Six Sigma, PMP).
  • Experience using Workday or similar HRIS platforms for HR program management and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and experience managing different HR platforms (e.g., Workday Learning, Percipio/Skillsoft, Peakon or other employee pulse survey platform).
  • Ability to integrate emerging HR technologies and innovative practices to advance organizational HR initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support company-wide HR initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of HR initiatives, including employee retention, engagement programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and using key metrics to track success.
  • Leverage Workday and other HR technologies to analyze data and key metrics related to performance, engagement, and retention, translating insights into actionable, data-driven strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership and cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, data-driven initiatives that support required changes that meet the needs of both tactical and leadership roles.
  • Lead the project management efforts for large-scale HR initiatives, ensuring all programs are executed on time, within scope, and are measured against organizational objectives and success metrics.
  • Utilize lean methodologies to facilitate process improvements within the HR department, creating value for employees and customers while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in HR initiatives, maintaining the highest standards of quality, ethics, and integrity in all aspects of program management.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention efforts through targeted interventions and data-backed strategies, continuously tracking progress and adjusting initiatives for optimal impact.
  • Develop localized and broad strategies to address opportunities as defined by metrics and insights.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity of HR data through standardized definitions, reporting and controls.
  • Design and deliver recurring reports to executives and HR team highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on the progress of HR initiatives, success metrics and provide key data insights and recommendations for future program enhancements.
