About The Position

Air Inuit is seeking a highly motivated Ground Services Manager with solid experience to oversee all of Air Inuit’s ground operations at Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL). This leadership position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of ramp, cargo, and terminal/FBO ground services, as well as support for the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance department. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader with excellent knowledge of airport ground handling operations, cargo operations, safety and compliance requirements, and team management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aviation ground operations or airport operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of the airport ecosystem, including operational and safety procedures.
  • Proven experience in managing ramp and cargo operations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain valid certifications (CIZR and AVOP).
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced airport environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational rigor.
  • Compliance with applicable security policies, airport procedures, and background checks.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required; knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Air Inuit ground operations at YUL, including Montreal-Trudeau Airport, the FBO, and the cargo warehouse, as well as ramp services and aircraft towing teams.
  • Manage FBO and terminal ground services by ensuring high standards of service for passengers, crews, and clients.
  • Ensure operational punctuality and efficiency across all service areas.
  • Apply and enforce all safety regulations and procedures of the company, the airport authority, and Transport Canada.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure that all incidents are properly reported and investigated.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and awareness activities.
  • Oversee the proper use, basic daily maintenance, and lifecycle management of all ground support equipment (GSE).
  • Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance schedules in collaboration with the maintenance department.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and front-line employees in the ramp, cargo, and operations sectors.
  • Manage staffing, work schedules, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative, empowering, and performance-oriented work environment.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, including labor, equipment, and operational costs.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, operational efficiency, and financial results.
  • Prepare reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Actively participate in the safety management system (SMS).
  • Ensure overall management of the station’s performance.
  • Perform any other related tasks associated with the position’s duties.
