Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing – Final Assembly team as a Final Assembly Supervisor 2 based in Sunnyvale, CA. Northrop Grumman Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly, and testing of propulsion and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Master's with a minimum of 6 years of experience. (4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Supervisory or team lead experience in an operations environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • STEM Degree
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of SAP.
  • Experience managing union represented workforce.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Previous military experience
  • Have an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team directly responsible for the final assembly of one of these units.
  • Supervise a team of 10-15 mechanics, pipe fitters, painters, or electricians in their day-to-day work.
  • Take care of your team, your product, and ensuring all work is performed to Northrop Grumman’s high standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement.
  • Ensure their time and pay are accurate.
  • Ensure they work in a safe environment, and their concerns are addressed.
  • Ensure the collective bargaining agreement is adhered to.
  • Ensure their assigned training is completed.
  • Address obstacles to performing work efficiently.
  • Address interpersonal issues quickly and at the lowest level.
