Our manufacturing operations in Waynesboro, Virginia support production of advanced electronics, radar, and communication systems within our broader portfolio of defense capabilities. Our teams work collaboratively to ensure manufacturing excellence, production readiness, and continuous improvement across programs. We are looking for you to join our team as General Manufacturing Manager 1 to support production and manufacturing operations at our Central Virginia manufacturing facilities. The General Manufacturing Manager 1 will have organizational responsibility for assemblers. The primary mission is to meet or exceed customer requirements by providing quality products on time and within program cost targets, while promoting a lean manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment; will also consider a minimum of 9 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with an Associate's degree.
  • At least one year of experience managing or leading people or projects
  • Experience in MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level Security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing in a manufacturing/assembly environment
  • Experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for business
  • Prior program, project and/or people leadership/management and cross-functional process improvement experience
  • Lean or Green Belt certified

Responsibilities

  • Provide support, leadership, and direction in areas such as: Technical Guidance, Process Development, Career Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital & Facility Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, AS9100 and all auditable processes
  • Provide directions to employees following company procedures, management guidelines, and general policies
  • Drive employee efficiency
  • Meet product cost and schedule targets
  • Manage department budgets
  • Manage the area to produce quality products
  • Attract, retain and develop talent and execute a cohesive strategy to create an inclusive culture and build an engaged workforce
