About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 - Front-Line Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Paint & Coatings IPT organization. This leadership role is located at Palmdale, CA. The selected candidate will have the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading Low Observable coatings applications of a given cost center within restricted programs, including quality, cost and schedule objectives and factory accountability, which will include the following responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Responsible for daily assignments and providing guidance for operations related to aerospace paint, masking, and surface preparation requirements. This includes but not limited to performance-based gap filler, aero-fairing, scrim/applique, fastener filler, thin film, coatings, primer, and topcoat materials. Must be able to provide clear and concise direction and coaching to technicians and other production personnel in the assembly and manufacturing areas to remove constraints as required. Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives. Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees. Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma/GED AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance and/or related environment.
  • Must have 1 year of prior management and or lead experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access
  • Must be willing to work any of the following schedules: Monday – Thursday 4/10 Shift - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am) OR Friday – Sunday 3/10 Shift - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am)
  • Must be willing to work extended shifts, holidays, and weekends if needed to support program schedule milestones.
  • Must be willing to travel

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 Years experience in Aerospace Coatings applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
