Job Summary The Manager, Fleet Luxury Facilities is a hands-on operational role within the Marine Operations Team, responsible for the upkeep, presentation, and condition of all interior and exterior guest spaces onboard the company’s yachts. Focused on maintaining a luxury environment, the role ensures facilities maintenance supports guest comfort and experience. The Manager, Fleet Luxury Facilities, works closely with other departments to maintain, repair, and refurbish assets to the highest luxury standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing onboard teams managing fixtures, fittings, furnishings, and systems; budget forecasting and cost control; project scope development; and ensuring compliance with Class, Flag, and Company requirements. The role also plans and coordinates all operational repairs, refurbishments, and non-revenue crossing work, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s standards. The role collaborates with technical and project teams during non-revenue crossings, dry and wet dockings, and hotel refits, providing operational guidance and on-site oversight as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the maritime sector, or equivalent
  • Skills & Experience: Shore-based experience as a Facilities Manager or similar role in marine interior outfitting, with at least three years in a guest-facing position onboard luxury vessels or in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Extensive experience with cruise or passenger vessels, including project management and, preferably, managing third-party outsourced operations relationships.
  • Proven facilities management leader with comprehensive knowledge of safety and risk management, regulatory compliance, asset management, and fiscal responsibility, and a strong ability to assess how standards and defects impact the guest experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent collaboration and communication skills, effectively working across departments and stakeholders, while building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teams.
  • Possesses deep knowledge of industry safety and operational best practices, with the ability to develop SOPs from the ground up and manage vessel operational budgets effectively.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office and planned maintenance systems, with the ability to work autonomously, manage change, implement new concepts, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in English, maintains the highest ethical standards and confidentiality, and remains flexible, adaptable, and solution-oriented to meet operational deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a combination of office, shipboard, and shipyard environments.
  • International travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Drives the importance of all Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards throughout every guest and employee interaction.
  • The first point of contact for all yacht aesthetics topics, inclusive but not limited to the day-to-day operations, project management of non-revenue sailing work, and drydock planning work for yacht aesthetics, purchase order and invoice approvals, etc.
  • Create procedures across the fleet that standardize the upkeep and maintenance protocols for our yachts.
  • Use data from systems such as Pinpoint, IssuTrax, etc. to drive maintenance planning, KPI tracking, and problem resolutions for the yacht aesthetics team
  • Develop, implement and perform yearly Yacht Aesthetics Audits and inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Yacht Maintenance and Upkeep Planning, monitoring, and arranging port services from external parties related to facilities maintenance in conjunction with the vessel.
  • Utilizing or building systems to monitor KPIs around the performance of identifying and addressing issues onboard
  • Ensure that the systems, equipment, and assets under your ownership are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Manage the hotel defects and monitor trends, with the clear goal of continuous improvement in all guest-affected defects within the facilities department ashore and onboard.
  • Guest satisfaction Stays close to the guest voice in all aspects of maintenance and cleanliness feedback and reacts accordingly to emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Utilizes and builds methods of measuring yacht condition or the impact their efforts are having.
  • Staff Management and Training Builds a proactive maintenance culture within onboard teams by ensuring preventative maintenance procedures are effectively planned, executed, and aligned with hotel operations to support a seamless, uninterrupted guest experience.
  • Works closely with yacht teams to ensure they are properly trained, equipped with the right tools, and supported in developing Facilities SOPs that promote knowledge sharing, consistency, and best practices across the fleet.
  • Budget and Financial Responsible for managing yacht aesthetics expenditures against assigned budgets, including preparation of OPEX budgets, tracking variances to actuals, and implementing cost control measures.
  • Works closely with the ship to develop detailed scopes of work to submit to procurement to evaluate suppliers, products, and proposals, and ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing and logistics for all aesthetics-related projects.
  • Health, Safety and Compliance Ensures that, wherever possible, company yachts operate beyond compliance with SOLAS, ISM, ISPS, MLC, USPH, United States Coast Guard, and other relevant codes, and always in strict compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Newbuilding Partners with the Newbuild and Design teams to ensure any maintenance, repair, or modification work with potential impact to yacht design or aesthetics is reviewed, evaluated, and approved in advance.
  • Travel to the Yachts, corporate offices, and/or shipyards on an as needed basis, could be up to 25%.
