Simons is undertaking a transformation and optimization of its finance function, including the implementation of new financial systems. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the Manager, Financial Transformation and Systems plays a key role in the implementation, optimization, and evolution of the company’s financial ERP systems tailored to the retail industry. The Manager acts as a bridge between the Finance team, IT, external consultants, and other internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and optimal financial processes. The Manager is responsible for supporting the transformation of the finance function, including upskilling teams, data governance, process optimization, and the implementation of new financial systems.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Information Technology
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in system implementation or optimization projects, combining Finance and IT expertise
  • Strong functional knowledge of finance processes
  • Proven experience in implementing or optimizing a financial ERP system
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
  • Experience in user training or change management
  • Training or equivalent experience in project management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • CPA designation (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of the Finance function by identifying, defining, and optimizing financial and operational processes
  • Act as a Finance team leader within the ERP project, overseeing the team’s contribution to the implementation of the new financial system
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of data to better support decision-making
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvement and contribute to the definition and optimization of financial processes
  • Support Finance team members in translating business needs into functional specifications for IT teams
  • Leverage artificial intelligence initiatives to optimize processes and integrate suitable solutions into financial operations
  • Manage the progress of key Finance milestones related to the transformation, including ERP system implementation, documentation, financial structure setup, training, testing, etc.
  • Ensure system alignment with accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational requirements
