About The Position

The Financial Reporting Manager oversees the preparation and accuracy of internal and external financial reports in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. This role manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes; coordinates financial statement preparation and disclosures; and ensures compliance with various reporting standards, as applicable. The manager also supports internal and external audits, researches and implements new accounting standards, maintains strong internal controls over financial reporting, and collaborates with accounting, finance, and business stakeholders to provide clear, reliable financial information to senior management and external users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience required, including extensive experience with the preparation, review, analysis or auditing of financial statements.
  • A CPA license or Master's degree and five years of experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of one year managerial or supervisory experience required.
  • Successful demonstration of the completion of the competencies required by the department required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all technical accounting and financial reporting functions of the organization.
  • Financial statement preparation, review and presentation.
  • Researching and documenting accounting decisions for complex accounting matters.
  • Purchase accounting and financial statement consolidation for acquisitions.
  • Lead evaluation and adoption of relevant new accounting standards.
  • Identify business areas and policies in need of improvements.
  • Responsible for maintaining a strong internal control environment around technical accounting matters and the external reporting processes.
  • Assist with the overall coordination and interactions with the external audit firm.
  • Responsible for managing and mentoring department's Finance Management Rotation (FMR) program participant.
  • Trains, supervises and manages the performance of personnel including the establishment of performance standards, objectives and annual reviews, which must be completed in a timely manner.
