About The Position

The Manager, Finance role plays a critical part in driving financial planning and analysis, delivering insightful business performance evaluations, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position involves enhancing reporting transparency and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with corporate objectives. Effective communication with senior management and stakeholders is essential to provide clear financial insights and support business initiatives. The Sam’s Club Operations Finance team transforms financial strategy into actionable results by enhancing profitability, managing risk, and improving operational efficiency. Collaborating with business leaders and finance partners, the team translates fiscal goals into detailed plans through comprehensive analysis. Leading transformation initiatives, it develops scalable programs by defining scope, quantifying value, and building business cases. Combining strategic insight with practical execution, the team integrates analytics into daily workflows, providing data-driven decision support that empowers leaders to achieve business objectives effectively and drive continuous improvement across operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, planning, and forecasting to support strategic business decisions.
  • Strong skills in variance analysis, month-end closing, and commercial finance processes.
  • Ability to develop and present financial models and business cases to senior management.
  • Expertise in managing complex control structures and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing finance associates.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Power BI, to enhance reporting transparency.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization within finance functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area OR 4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analyses and models to support strategic planning and recommend expense targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business performance and communicate significant variances.
  • Develop and maintain control structures to mitigate financial risks and enhance reporting transparency.
  • Produce financial models incorporating assumptions and risks to support business decisions and presentations.
  • Partner with senior management to identify gaps between business goals and corporate objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting processes and provide insights on historical trends and future forecasts.
  • Business case development and initiative sizing
