About The Position

The Maintenance Manager's primary role is to maintain all power equipment in the warehouse and all building maintenance in a cost-effective manner. This includes ensuring that facility components such as refrigeration, plumbing, and structure are continuously audit-ready. The position involves managing the daily work and safety of associates engaged in various facility operations, including building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, beverage department, power industrial equipment, and security. A key aspect is ensuring the facility is always prepared for audits. The manager is responsible for hiring, reviewing, coaching, and developing the maintenance staff, fostering positive associate relations through communication and engagement initiatives, and consistently enforcing company policies and procedures. This role also requires coordination with the Safety department for training, observations, accident investigations, and safety inspections, as well as making recommendations for disciplinary actions. Furthermore, the manager oversees the selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of company assets, coordinates with other departments for efficient upgrades and repairs, suggests cost-saving measures, and manages all department projects for quality and timely completion, utilizing maintenance tracking software. Ensuring all power equipment is safe and operational is a critical responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years on the job maintenance management experience
  • Level 2 Ammonia Operation Certification required.
  • HAZWOPER 24 hrs Training required.
  • Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration required
  • Understanding of general building maintenance, refrigeration, plumbing, processing equipment welding and Audit preparation.
  • Ability to train personnel on how to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts and all other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to hire personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily work and safety of associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, beverage department, power industrial equipment and security.
  • Managing the safe and compliant upkeep of the facilities.
  • Ensuring the facility is continuously audit ready
  • Hire, review, coach, and develop the maintenance staff.
  • Maintains associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings; maintains on-going interaction; keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures; monitors associate morale; and submit ideas and respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement.
  • Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates efforts with Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections.
  • Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
  • Manages the proper selection, purchase, utilization and inventory of Company assets in support of the facilities, beverage department, and power industrial equipment and security departments.
  • Coordinates with other departments as necessary to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within facility maintenance, beverage, power industrial equipment and security.
  • Manages, assigns and monitors all department projects for quality and timely completion.
  • Utilizes maintenance tracking software for task management.
  • Ensuring all power equipment is safe and operational
