About The Position

This comprehensive role includes supervision of maintenance, grounds, and construction. This position assists the Corporate Director of Facilities in the strategic planning and accreditation processes as it pertains to the facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, job a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of the residents and participants we serve. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the facilities maintenance department, to uphold the highest standards of efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This position will work in collaboration with the executive and facilities / centers leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education training and experience in a skilled trade.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading building maintenance and facilities operations
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be able to adjust quickly to interruptions and schedule changes, and work well with a wide range of professional and non-professional community leaders.
  • Experience supervising, motivating, leading and directing staff.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management of facilities departments.
  • Excellent skills in professional business correspondence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the corporate structure and its inter-departmental interaction.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, serving both internal and external customers
  • Must successfully pass agency required background checks and drug screening
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license, provide proof of Colorado auto insurance (a copy of your “Declarations Page” indicating amounts of $25,000 per person/$50,000 per accident for Bodily Injury; and $15,000 per accident for Property Damage and provide own transportation.

  • Knowledge of regulations with an emphasis on Code of Colorado Regulations 6 CCR 1011-1
  • Must have experience with healthcare regulatory agencies with governing jurisdiction (e.g. OSHA, CMS, CDC, DPH, Housing Authority)
  • Demonstrated ability to indirectly manage multiple teams and work groups across multiple facilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict

Nice To Haves

  • Facilities related certifications are preferred.
  • Experience in a Healthcare service-oriented organization is preferred.
  • Experience in construction management, life safety/compliance, engineering or business acumen a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment, systems, and facilities.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other essential systems to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for residents.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize facility operations, minimize downtime, and reduce operating costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Oversee renovation and construction projects while in progress, ensuring minimal disruption to residents, participants and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others across departments and levels of the organization
  • Oversee inventory controls and use of supplies and equipment, and assures equipment is maintained in good working condition.
  • Records and catalogs the specifications, warranties and details for all equipment.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate facilities maintenance staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and job performance.
  • Promote a positive work environment that prioritizes employee well-being, recognition, and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to facilities management, senior living and PACE facilities.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential risks, hazards, or deficiencies and take proactive measures to address them promptly.
  • Collaborate with senior management, department heads, and external vendors to address concerns, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, participants and families regarding facilities-related matters, maintenance schedules, and service disruptions, ensuring transparency and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in the identification, selection, and negotiation of vendors for capital-related services.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate negotiated vendors.
