About The Position

Block by Block is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee one of their Ambassador programs. This role requires a leader with 5-7 years of experience in facilities operations management, hospitality/tourism management, event management, or public spaces administration. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing daily district program operations and delivering continual program improvements, focusing on creating a vibrant and welcoming downtown experience. The company emphasizes a positive team culture, opportunities for professional development, and innovation to improve program quality and visitor experience. Block by Block's mission is to employ friendly Ambassadors to make public spaces friendlier, safer, and cleaner, directly impacting the community.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in facilities operations management, hospitality/tourism management, event management, or public spaces administration.

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Minimum of 5 years Management Experience.
  • Must have driver's license and clean MVR.

  • Expert Judgement.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Expert in level technology and computer skills.
  • Strong background with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring and training a positive, skilled, and dependable team.
  • Provide support services working alongside Ambassadors in the district.
  • Adjusting the deployment of resources to match changing needs.
  • Identifying and solving problems to improve program quality.
  • Procuring and managing inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Reporting outcomes through various channels (spreadsheets, Kronos Timekeeping, Budgets).
  • Hands-on working management in the field to provide coaching, mentoring, and continuous training.
