Manager, Energy Origination

Montera•San Francisco, CA
•$160,000 - $200,000•Remote

About The Position

The Manager, Energy Origination develops and executes power strategies for prospective data center developments. The role leads utility and power-market due diligence, builds relationships with utilities and other industry stakeholders, identifies scalable and commercially viable power solutions, and originates, structures, and negotiates the utility service, energy supply, and infrastructure agreements needed across Montera’s development portfolio. The position requires deep utility and power-market expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to drive complex initiatives from strategy through execution. Success involves developing credible power strategies; evaluating and communicating risks and opportunities; advancing external negotiations; and delivering decision-ready recommendations that support investment decisions and customer commitments. The role is primarily remote when not traveling or attending required in-person activities. Travel is approximately 15% of the time and may include domestic and, as needed, international destinations. Work primarily involves standard office and computer-based activities. Montera describes itself as a remote-first company and offers flexibility, ownership, and meaningful rewards.
