About The Position

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center's Emergency Department is seeking a Manager, ED to supervise and manage 24-hour operations. This role is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 daily operations of one or more clinical areas. The Manager will supervise patient care services staff, coordinate quality and customer service activities, assist in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget, coordinate purchasing and payroll processes, serve as a technical/clinical resource to team members, and perform work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff. The Emergency Department is a 37-bed facility that sees a wide range of acute and emergent diagnoses, is a Level III Trauma Center, and a certified Primary Stroke Center. The team specializes in respiratory, cardiac, septic, and behavioral health for pediatric to geriatric patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3 years Acute Care Experience
  • Previous Supervisory Experience
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Level Degree preferred
